DR. TIM TENNENT
Timothy Tennent is an ordained minister in the Global Methodist Church. For fifteen years he served as the President of Asbury Theological Seminary. He is currently the Distinguished Chair of World Christianity at Asbury Seminary. In January 2025 he assumed the Methodist Chair of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Tennent is the author of numerous books and articles on global Christianity, including Theology in the Context of World Christianity and Invitation to World Missions. He has also authored many books to assist in the catechesis of the church, including For the Body: Recovering a Theology of Gender, Sexuality and the Human Body and Foundations of the Christian Faith. He also regularly blogs about issues related to the church at timothytennent.com. He has also produced, along with his wife, Julie, a metrical psalter to assist in promoting Psalm singing in the life of the church.
