BEYOND THESE WALLS WORSHIP

WE'RE BLESSED TO HAVE AN AMAZING WORSHIP TEAM THIS YEAR, READY TO LEAD US TO THE THRONE ROOM TOGETHER AS WE LIFT OUR VOICES FOR A TIME OF PRAISE!

Tavarious Linzer

Tavarious grew up as a musical kid, raised in Houston, Texas. He was exposed to many different and amazing cultures and became involved with several thriving local churches. He is a Christ follower and worship leader, inspired by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Paul of the Bible, and the person of Jesus Christ. He believes that music is the heartbeat of the world and the heartbeat of God is His Word. Worship music particularly, when aligned with and/or inspired by the Word of God, is powerful. As a worship leader and recording artist, Tavarious loves seeing the REAL impact that comes with it. "Worship is an outward expression of an inward passion from one’s heart and soul."

James Kelly

James is a multi-instrumental performer and vocalist. He can be found regularly performing at Houston area churches, weddings, and solo gigs. Classically trained in piano, violin, and voice from childhood through college, James found his main passion during high school for American folk instruments and music. He currently plays weekly with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, Wayne Watson, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston. Piano, guitar, mandolin, and tenor banjo are some of the instruments he plays at his area performances.

Joe Mishler

Joe holds a B.A. in Music from Indiana Wesleyan University and a M.M. in Vocal Performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. Additionally, he has over 20 years of experience on the guitar (his first love) and plays rock, blues, bluegrass, and country styles. You can see Joe performing Sunday mornings at Chapelwood United Methodist Church at the 8:25 AM, youth, and Upper Room services. Throughout the week, Mr. Mishler teaches music lessons at The Talent House in Cypress, TX. His wife, Lora, has recently become an optometrist. They have two sons, Eli (3) and Zachary (1).

Peter Johns

Peter grew up in Norwich, England and has been involved in music from a young age. He graduated in 1993 with a Creative Arts degree in Music Composition and Performance, having also earned a minor in Contemporary Theater, from Nottingham Trent University in England. While there, he was the first music student awarded a scholarship to study Composition and Orchestration in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 1998, he was honored as a semi-finalist in the National Association of Christian Artists and Song Writers’ annual song writing competition. Peter moved from the U.K. to Texas in 1994 to work with the United Methodist Church leading worship for the Wesley Foundation in Lubbock, Texas. He has been on staff at Chapelwood United Methodist Church since 2001. When not working, Peter can be found cooking something elaborate in the kitchen or hunched over an obscure German board game.

Sam Jenkins grew up in the Clear Lake area with her parents and two older sisters.  After having majored in music in college, she has made a career out of music of all types: Christian music, jazz, rock, pop, party bands, original music, and studio recordings.  She was honored to be a part of the Josh Garrels: The Light Came Down Tour in both 2016 and 2017.  She has been singing with Mercy Street for the past seven years, and with Wayne Watson this past year.  She performs regularly throughout Houston.
